Ser Jorah Mormont is a knight and member of House Mormont, the former head of House Mormont, the former Lord of Bear Island, an exiled knight and former member of the Queensguard to Daenerys Targaryen. When his father gave up lordship of House Mormont to Jorah and joined the Night's Watch, Ser Jorah went on to fight for the rebels in Robert's Rebellion, and was present at the Battle of the Trident. He again fought for King Robert in the Greyjoy Rebellion. He self exiled himself to Lys after he sold poachers into slavery, and became a sellsword. After his wife left him, he fled to Volantis, until he gave his service to Viserys III Targaryen, and finally Daenerys. He conspired with the crown to try and assassinate Daenerys, but later defected when he fell in love with her. He became her Queensguard, until she found out about his previous employment and exiled him: he later captured Tyrion Lannister to try and buy his way back into Daenerys' entourage, until the two of them were enslaved by Yunkai'i slavers. In the show, he managed to reconcile with Daenerys, and went to Oldtown to cure his greyscale. Now cured, he has left to rejoin her. In the books, he is still enslaved.
