The Haunted Forest is a substantial woodland lying beyond the Wall, far to the far north of Westeros. The forest extends for several hundred miles to the north, along the foothills of the mountain range known as the Frostfangs, before dying out in the subarctic wastelands of the Lands of Always Winter. The forest can grow up right up to the edge of the Wall, but the Night's Watch try to clear it out as much as possible to have large, open spaces for spotting wildling raiding parties. Craster's Keep and Whitetree are located in the Haunted Forest, while the Fist of the First Men is located beyond its western limits.
